Other People Sell Your Stuff – Drop The Word Affiliate PUHLEASE!

One of our projects at the moment is launching an online product to people who haven’t seen this kind of thing before. If you sell online you’ll know all about launches, JV partners and affiliates. Well if you’re not then those words are as meaningful as etjzxykrltucygb (which is probably a lovely Welsh town).

If you sell something, anything – and let’s face it, we’re all sellin’ something right? Well, you sell something that’s great. But there’s only 24 hours in a day, and you probably want to do some sleepin’ and shaggin’ some nights. So how can you possibly reach everyone you want to with your product?

Well the way to do it is something called ‘Leveraging’ your time. Instead of selling to one person and then another, yada yada etc…sell to one person who themselves will sell to a bunch of other people. So if that one person sells 5 more people by themselves, and you sell to 5 of these kinds of people each day that 25 sales for every ‘sale’ you make.

In the world of business and stuff they call that Affiliate Marketing. So basically you wander across to someone and say ‘hey, you have a bunch of people who think your shit stinks good, could you tell them about my product/service/thing?’. And they do. Usually in return for a good old percentage of the sale.

BUT here’s the thing that’s different in the way the best affiliates work. Instead of calling them Affiliates, we call them AffiliMATES. Because we want to turn these valuable people in to our closest friends so that next we have a product to sell we can call up our buddy and say ‘fancy promoting this too?’ and they’ll say yes. Cos that’s what mates do.

So 2 lessons today from the crazy world of Mr P…sell to people who will sell more for you, and create friendships that last for a long time.

BOOM!
