This is not a rant about the changes being made to Facebook. Those changes are for the better and it’s us the users who need to get to grips with it, not Facebook. This is an idea I have to make Facebook Ads work better for the user experience (not really for the advertiser but who cares about them, right?)
Right now if you see an ad down the right side of your Facebook page it’s there because you match some of the criteria the advertiser has set in the ad settings.
Recently I saw an ad for something that looked pretty interesting, so I clicked it and bought the think. The advertising works (hoorah!). But now the same ad is STILL appearing.
So I wondered if anyone else thought it would be pretty sweet if you could add in to the Facebook ad the URL of the success page (that could be the “thanks for your order” page or even the “thanks for giving us your email address” page in to the ad so that once someone clicks the ad and then becomes a customer, the ad no longer shows.
As far as advertisers go, this would mean that your ads would work more efficiently because, unlike Google Adwords, you’d only be displaying to people who have not successfully completed your desired action, and to me as a Facebook user I dont get all “grrr” for seing the same ads over and over again when I’ve clicked them and become a customer.
Comments and likes please people and lets see if we can get The Blue Place to listen? (also pass on to friends so we can get some more serious numbers, that might help our cause too)
